Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Fearless Equality!

Equality is something that a lot of people don’t have, but want for themselves and the people in their lives. You may look at me and wonder what credentials I have to understand what it’s like to be stereotyped and discriminated against. The fact is, I have two disabilities – two hidden disabilities. The one that I was first diagnosed with is Developmental Verbal Dyspraxia (DVD) and the other is Hypermobility Syndrome.

Living with hidden disabilities has meant that I disappoint people who do not understand my disabilities and have high expectations of me . Or, I am labeled from the beginning as stupid, lazy and (sometimes) dangerous  by those who refuse to understand. However, I have been fortunate enough to have a supportive network around me. This has allowed me to better understand my difficulties and learn how to pursue what I want in-spite of these difficulties.

I am hoping that this blog will be somewhere we can all learn how to live and thrive. Even if you do not have a disability, but know someone who does, there will be things that you can relate to and benefit from, for yourself and the others around you.

I will say peace out for now and I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Jessica.
